PRODISM magazine previews the upcoming UNDERCOVER SS19 collection in its latest issue
PRODISM magazine, known for highlighting specific products in their best light, now aims to capture the almost indescribable eclecticism UNDERCOVER has become known for since its inception oh so many years ago. Ever since Jun Takahashi graced us with his many nuanced designs, the multi-influenced releases have grown stronger and stronger with each passing year.
From “LESS BUT BETTER” to “UNDERMAN,” the designer continues to show his strength with a 19ss collection he dubs “THE NEW WARRIORS.” Though a call back to the hit 70s film — further establishing Takahashi’s penchant for cult classics — the range is anything but tunneled. Anime culture, steampunk, cyberpunk, and many other diverse cultural movements take their place within the collection, serving as a central motif in the many sections that make up the season. Graphics continue to play a strong role, showing the iconic UC style, while many standout pieces like sleeveless leather vests, bright yellow double riders, and printed raincoats further define the Spring/Summer season.
