Daiki Suzuki’s Engineered Garments imprint has done much in the way of repurposing American staples with Japanese sensibilities. AW19 is much of the same, though the eclectic designer is beginning to play more into his personality, taking a few favorites far out of their comfort zone.

With more footwear collaborations trickled in, the starring mainline ensembles tackle a smart-leaning aesthetic done in a framing that extends it into the realm of workwear and even streetwear. Utilitarian accents by way of extra pockets and overt fasteners complete a look EG has made its signature, with earth tones and bold plaid patterns arriving en masse. Bedfords, photographer vests, CPO shirting, and many other staples are hit with their usual arrangements of winter-ready materials while a few uses of patterns and textures blend in an ethos found throughout a few fellow Nepenthes contemporaries. Velvet suit sets, olive drab patchwork outerwear, leopard prints, and all-over floral swatches finish off looks rarely seen within the usual scope,
