Sasquatchfabrix Spring/Summer '20
Sasquatchfabrix, with a relatively colorless AW19 collection behind them, are dialing up the playfulness once again as they head into the Spring/Summer season. Prints both loud and minimal lead the charge next to hues equally vibrant, following behind the succinct yet appropriate theme of “Kaneai,” a Japanese term that roughly translates to “Balance” in English.
Effectively becoming a melting pot of both Eastern and Western influences, the label has created an aesthetic for themselves that few attempt to imitate. Often drawing from either their own roots and traditions or even more commonly appropriated staples -- e.g. coaches, overcoats, and the like -- the garments find themselves in a niche almost impossible to truly define. Doing so once again though without relying on the many standouts they’ve crafted in the past, the entire range strikes a middle point between both their influences in what is essentially a nod to its namesake. Noragi jackets, hantens, and few others boast the collarless construction these styles have become known for while similarly inspired shirting and trousers add on cinching wraps and layered skirts, respectively. Sleeveless tops billow out at their shoulders in what is a nod to the Kataginu -- a samurai’s vest -- fleshing out a small yet undeniably impressionable breadth that spans many a different shade of neutral and material. Equally transformative offerings reinterpret the denim trucker, chambray shirt, and classic menswear blazer, leaving almost everything untouched save for their center torso that opens up as a window to the underlayer.
Elsewhere, you can find a large mix of tie-dye camp collars, trousers, and basics as well as earth tone tinged nylon kits and patterned knit vests. With many left unmentioned, it’s worth checking out the entire lookbook right below. The first release will be preceding 2020 right on December 14th.
