CAMPAIGN/EDITORIAL | NANGA x 18 East 'Winter Trek' by eye_C
Following their first sell-out collaboration in 2023, NANGA and the New York-based label 18 East summoned their collective momentum to develop a seven-piece capsule that includes down jackets and apparel.
Aptly titled ‘Winter Trek’, their efforts are inspired by a winter trek to visit the many handweavers of Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, where snow-capped peaks and freezing temperatures are commonplace. The capsule, featuring protective down jackets and ornate, intricately decorated apparel, combines the best of NANGA and 18 East.
Made in Japan under NANGA’s expert supervision, the down jackets spearhead the capsule. The Lookout Jacket, which arrives in a charcoal colourway, is made using a flame-resistant Japanese Takibi fabric and features a super water-repellent Spanish duck down, which offers superior insulation. It features several exterior and interior pockets, hidden elastic cuffs and heat-sealed two-way zipper entry. Additionally, the Hooded Range Jacket in Mocha is crafted from recycled nylon and is filled with the same Spanish duck down as the Lookout Jacket. Marvellously lightweight and warm, the Hooded Range Jacket features a full-cut silhouette with raglan sleeves, channelled hood adjusters, hip pockets and two interior cargo pockets for additional storage.
Five additional pieces of apparel round out the capsule, highlighting 18 East’s penchant for craftsmanship and refined materials. Notably, these include the Banks Utility Fleece, the Azzenden Fleece Pant, the Tizi Mountain Shirt, the TAC Cargo Pant, and the Hirock Half-Sleeve Crewneck.
Release Details:
The collaboration will first be released exclusively in Tokyo at the NANGA Harajuku store on October 25th. Shortly after, it will be available globally from 18 East’s online store on October 30th at 11 a.m. EST, followed by an in-store release from 18 East’s New York studio - more details to follow.
