prasthana Autumn/Winter '19
prasthana continues its subversion of norms into AW19, crafting pieces that amaze in style rather than perform in overt function. Utilitarian-esque pieces arrive next to nomadic stylings, creating a range of diverse influence and focused craft.
Designer Daisuke Takei’s eccentric aesthetics — honed since his relatively recent debut in 2015 — grabs at familiar tropes and utilizes them as an avenue of modification. Smart-leaning styles of all black arrangement come through in a form more casual than typical blazers, refining it with noragi collars and deconstructed make-ups. Technical outerwear, which takes the form of more tactical parkas to somewhat traditional overcoats, mix hits of velvet with oversized nylon pockets and swaps sleeves with contrasting swatches of material, respectively. Blousons, as the more contemporary of the entire set, utilize subtle pin striping in a fashion similar to a few of the accompanying trousers — which also offer up in various colors of double layered, extremely tapered, and wide cut alternatives.
