Kiko Kostadinov Spring/Summer '20
Breaking into the new decade with a collection much more colorful than those prior, Kiko Kostadinov taps the iconic Kentucky Derby as his inspiration for SS20. With much of his eponymous label reframing the idea of the modern uniform, this season shares that same ethos as it gives typical Jockey garb a futuristic makeover.
Laceless boots and loafers arrive plastered with vibrant color blocking while a series of new collaborative ASICS don tiled patterning and an overextended outsole tread. Trousers pool in seeming perfection on this expansive set of footwear, matching the effortless drape of his silk-adorned garments and subtly patchworked blousons. Zipped short-sleeve shirting feature many a geometric shape much like the open sleeve tops and blazer sets, though no words can aptly describe the maximalist breadth as it sees star shaped forms, vandal-like striping, and even scattered dots covering ad infinitum. Cowling headwear adds mysterious energy, double zipper parkas arrive in quiet contrast, knee-cut shorts billow in its movements, denim jackets allure in simulated wool textures, and so much more walks the rug floored runways.
