WHIZ Limited Autumn/Winter '19

Standing right at the midpoint between many a different style, WHIZ Limited’s AW19 collection is one of extensive influence with hints of techwear and the avant-garde somehow finding representation across many an unexpected ensemble.

Pieces lie in the familiar only in blurred templates as designer Hiroaki Shitano warps them to his hearts content. The one connecting factor among many of the expansive cultural staples, however, is their preparation for the harsh and cold winters, arming themselves with down-constructed outers as well as fur collars. BDU jackets are oversized and accentuated at each of its most recognizable features while the equally militaristic MA-1 stands close to its original though amped up with double zippers shifted slightly off center. Neon tone are the strongest of the largely earth tone palette — doing up, for the most part, windbreakers and lightweight layers — leaving much of the neutrals to build out the chaotically crafted: this includes the cropped leather jacket, overwhelmingly large wool cardigan, funnel neck blouson, and much more.
