COMOLI Spring/Summer '20
Simplewear label COMOLI, even now with their Spring/Summer ‘20 collection, has never once fallen back on its original values, crafting with close homage to the classics with no specific theme per each season. Starting this new year off strong, the Japanese label has provided an abounding assortment of both American and European styles to further dissect what has been one of their most consistent sources of inspiration.
Outerwear, knits, trousers, and much, much more, outfit with preference for neutral earth tones; hits of black seem to lie sparse, a safe bet next to a much more warming breadth of cream hits and olives of a faded, vintage appeal. Overcoats, built with accentuated buttons on a few and hidden plackets on those adjacent, cut oversized to be more in line with the rest of the range. Sweatshirts and spun pullovers layer underneath effortlessly, draping over the body with an oversized fit and drop shoulders. Elsewhere, blazers seem to arrive with fabrications far more casual, forgoing the standard woolen constructions for a much more breathable twill. Shirting, then, near doubles variety, either preferring a more standard oxford style or a wanderer’s half buttoned smock whose texture reminds of the denim Type II trucker whose siblings seem to opt for more lightweight materials.
