HYKE Spring/Summer '21

HYKE Spring/Summer '21

HYKE designers Hideaki Yoshihara and Yukiko Ode never stray too far from what they do best as they continue to innovate within their own realm for Spring/Summer ‘21.

While the world remains in a state of flux, HYKE touches on frequent reference points derived from vintage military surplus and technical clothing. Each collection evolves from the previous as they reveal another layer of their take on minimal modern clothing. Having amassed an impressive collection of vintage apparel, silhouettes are informed by 1940s British Army gear and glossy nylon dresses are inspired by rubberised all-weather parkas from the same era. Dresses, pinstripe jumpsuits, over-the-shoulder-harnesses and technical jackets are aplenty throughout the collection and inform the resulting ensemble. While it is minimal in delivery, it stays true to their design vision. In addition, the clothing remains diverse and exciting through an eclectic use of texture, colour and detail.
