Auxiliary ‘Volume_3’ Autumn/Winter ‘20
Auxiliary builds upon its previous two volumes with this third instalment - “Volume_3” - that consists of 10 new footwear styles; 6 sneaker silhouettes and 4 formal shoes.
The label takes a very subtle approach to production that values detail-focused design over hype, employing an ethos of “Quiet Luxury”. With an emphasis on quality over quantity, each style is made in limited numbers in Portugal using only the best materials available, from the softest suedes to the smoothest leather.
There are two skate-inspired silhouettes, which Matthew Taylor, Auxiliary founder and designer, describes as ‘ANTISKATE’ as they are far too luxurious to come into contact with grip tape, that are elevated using formal tumbled and Polido leathers and ‘pony-skin’ options. In addition, four ‘everyday’ sneaker styles compliment the ensemble - three lace-up and one slip-on - that are made using premium leather and woven fabric from recycled plastic bottles. This is the brands first foray into formal footwear with the introduction of a Derby, Loafer and Chelsea Boot silhouette, as they diversify their offering. The signature ‘AUX’ contrast stitching can be found on a couple of the shoes.
For their Autumn/Winter ‘20 campaign, they collaborated with designer and imagery maker FOMEC who are renowned for blurring the lines between digital and physical when it comes to experimenting with image making.
The new collection is exclusively available from Browns in-store and online.
