White Mountaineering BLK Line Returns for Autumn/Winter ‘20

After a 10-year hiatus, White Mountaineerings diffusion label ‘BLK Line’, a product of Yosuke Aizawa’s meticulous design process, returns for Autumn/Winter ‘20. Originally launched as a capsule line for the Spring/Summer 2009 season, it incorporates the technical DNA synonymous with White Mountaineering and fuses that with modern outdoor wear.

The focus for Autumn/Winter ‘20 is on combining function and form which has always been integral to Yosuke’s work, and invoking that onto everyday styles such as blazers, bottoms and long sleeve button-up shirts - a comprehensive ensemble of utilitarian garb is the result. There is a profound use of technical materials throughout, akin to Aizawa’s work, such as GORE-TEX Infinium, ballistic nylon and Primaloft Insulation, as well as a handful of others. As a result, the garments boast various properties such as abrasion-resistance, heat retention, exceptional breathability and water proofing. One piece from the collection that exemplifies this would be the Padded Jacket which is made using a lightweight nylon and incorporates GORE-TEX Infinium and Primaloft Insulation technology. Therefore, thanks to the careful design of the blouson and its precise functional details, the wearer is firmly shielded from the elements. Upon reversing the items, it reveals the underlying structure of the garment such as taped seams and graphics alluding to the construction of the pieces.

The collection will be available via their website on 3rd November.
