JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARÇONS Spring/Summer '21

JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARÇONS Spring/Summer '21

JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARÇONS, the women’s counterpart of JUNYA WATANABE MAN, stays inline with the designer’s patchwork craftsmanship as he combining pieces of contrasting black and white inorganic materials for their Spring/Summer ‘21 collection.

Aptly entitled “Inorganic Assemblage”, the monochrome collection features a heavy dose of women’s dresses and voluminous outerwear. By focusing on solely black and white colorways, Junya Watanabe is able to emphasize the beauty of fabric and construction details. One of the dresses is crafted by combining glossy fabrics and see-through materials for visual variation while excess fabric across the neck and sleeves create unique silhouettes. Meanwhile, free flowing coats and formal coats are covered across the entire garment with sequins, a repeated motif throughout the collection which creates a contrasting glitter effect when laid upon matte textures.

See the collection in full below and stay tuned and select retailers for the release.
