HATRA Autumn/Winter '20

HATRA Autumn/Winter '20

Japanese label HATRA, whose expertise lies within the vast realm of unisex styles, approaches closer and closer to androgyny with Autumn/Winter ‘20. Dubbed “Study Skins,” the collection adapts a range of both body-conforming and fashionably tailored dress forms, a bevy of more masculine-associated staples, and a few transitional basics accompanied by a sublimation of all-over prints.

Designer Keisuke Nagami has manned the imprint for now near a decade, with his attention mostly allocated to creating garments that feel like “home.” Achieved by way of a diverse spectrum of influence, the garments not only attempt formalwear but also the opposite casual ends. Luxury interweaves across, adorning blouses and accessories with snow white furs in mimicry of the debutant, while office work culture informs a small selection of pencil skirts and adjacent variants. Collared tops and a slew of blazers -- some dressed ordinary and others more leisurely as they remove their lapels -- then refine the more menswear-associated breadth, with each effectively balanced by way of elegantly flared slacks and extremely slim silhouettes. Knits then color block with vibrant threads within, sweatshirts mark with a wash of cool and warm toned graphics, and outerwear expands into wool-constructed blousons and cropped down parkas.
