As the world bears witness to unadulterated racism and ruthless systematic oppression, there’s no choice but to speak up. And with change only ever occurring at a snail’s pace, it is our responsibility to do what we can to speed up the process.
It goes without saying, but everyone here at eye_C is absolutely horrified at the recent events. The protests — though mass media would prefer to shine light on the negatives — are resolute and clear in their call for justice. Justice not only for George Floyd but also for Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Eric Reason… the list goes on. Law enforcement, an institution established to protect and serve, is painfully in need of reform and must be held accountable for the atrocities that occur day in and day out.
Nothing will happen overnight, unfortunately -- it’s the sad truth. But if you have the means, join in support. Below you’ll find links to petitions and funds that will help benefit the cause in a number of ways.
