KANGHYUK Delivers Their Reebok Premier Road Modern On July 3rd

KANGHYUK, manned by designers Kanghyuk Choi and Sanglak Shon, has only recently joined the Reebok family. And though not much time has passed since, the Korean label has managed to craft some of the most unique collaborative silhouettes the footwear brand has seen in quite a long while. Their Sole Fury ushered in a window into the minds of the aforementioned talents, both iterations making use of emergency air bags for fabric. Though a distinct departure by comparison, the imprint’s latest project -- the Premier Road Modern -- still matches up with a toned down yet still characteristic design language.

Effectively a nod to Reebok’s roots, the offering highlights performance elements in a vein similar to the now defunct Premier Running line-up. The tooling, the one-piece flow molded upper, as well the foam tongue make use of well-tested features, packing them within a frame that is outwardly of the KANGHYUK style. Sleek yet brutalist at points, the construction itself swaps between smoothened nylon synthetic and rubber fixtures chiseled to sharp points and various angles. Vector logos are present along the side in minimal fashion, wrapping somewhat above the toe whose fabric underneath bulks out as if expanding. Elsewhere, “KANGHYUK” branding is printed in subtle, near unnoticeable fashion, staying in line with the Triple Black palette which loosely follows the car part inspired motifs.

Grab a detailed look at these below and expect to find them exclusively at Dover Street Market London on July 3rd for a retail of $230 USD.
