SEASONAL HIGHLIGHT: HAVEN AW21 by eye_C
For our latest Seasonal Highlight, we take a closer look at HAVEN’s Autumn/Winter ‘21 collection. Each piece has been made to withstand the harsh Canadian winter by utilising the latest technical and high end fabrics from the likes of Primaloft®, Loro Piana, CORDURA® and DICROS® just to name a few.
Check out the full highlight below and click the name of each item for a closer look over at HAVEN’s website.
OUTERWEAR
TURBINE JACKET - DICROS® MAURI POLY / PRIMALOFT®
HAVEN’s ‘Turbine Jacket’ is a contemporary take on the subcultural icon that is the Flight Jacket, but it has been enhanced with modern performance technology and cold weather protection.
The exterior is made from a windproof and water-repellent 100% polyester DICROS® mauri Taffeta and the interior is insulated using Primaloft® Gold. It comes equipped with premium touches like two-way YKK METALUXE® zippers, fleece-lined hand pockets and a throat latch for added protection.
LAYERS
CRESCENT SHIRT - Loro Piana Merino Wool Flannel Green
Workwear silhouettes remain at the forefront of HAVEN’s in-house offering and their ‘Crescent Shirt’ is a true homage to that timeless style. Proudly Made in Canada, the shirt is crafted using Loro Piana Merino Wool with a custom check pattern developed exclusively for HAVEN and it features corduroy fabric on the forearm to increase durability in a high-wear area. There are two flap pockets on the front with snap-closure, articulated sleeves for increased range of movement and front snap closure.
TROUSERS
Designed to function as an all-season utilitarian pant, the Traverse Pants derive inspiration from the silhouette and styling of vintage Climbing Pants.
Thanks to a blend of cotton, polyester and nylon weather cloth, the pants are wind and water resistant. There are two pockets located on the side of each leg and tucked below the waistband. For a better fit, there is a bungee cord with toggle lock on the hem.
FOOTWEAR
HAVEN has taken the classic Canadian Military Boot and put a rather premium spin on it thanks to a Kudu leather upper, YKK ankle zip, padded leather lining and Vibram® New Winkler and Zeppa NG5 outsole for increased grip and stability.
INNER LAYERS
CORPS CREWNECK - Polartec® MicroGrid Poly Fleece
Destined to be used as a component in a layering system alongside other items in this highlight, the Corps Crewneck is a lightweight and highly insulating next-to-skin baselayer made from Polartec® MicroGrid. Technical nuances like thumbholes create a barrier against the weather and raglan sleeves allow for increased mobility.
ACCESSORIES
PORTER Utility Helmet Bag - X - Pac Cordura® Nylon
Made in Japan in collaboration with Porter Yoshida & Co, the Utility Helmet Bag offers an abundance of multi-use storage options concealed in a water repellent and highly durable Cordura X-Pac nylon shield. In addition to the main compartment, a series of 3D pockets are located on the front secured with YKK zippers. There are two ways of carrying it, one of them is by using a detachable shoulder strap and the other is two tape handles. Finishing touches to the bag come in the form of collaborative woven labels and branded snaps.
BEACON CAP - DICROS® mauri Poly / Polartec®
Adopting a 6-panel shape with a flexible brim, HAVEN’s Beacon Cap has been built using the same DICROS® mauri fabric as the Turbine Jacket thus delivering lightweight, water-repellent and windproof properties across the board - three essential components of headwear during the Autumn/Winter season. The neck and ear panels are insulated using Polartec® WindBloc® Fleece to ensure your head remains warm but can be fastened to the cap. To ensure appropriate fitment, there is a bungee cord adjustment at the crown of the head.
ALPINE NECK GAITER - Polartec® 300 Poly Fleece
The Alpine Neck Gaiter is a remedy to Canada’s harsh winters thanks to a Polartec® 300 polyester fleece paneled construction. As well as the gaiter being heat-retaining, a DWR finish ensures water repellency should conditions take a turn for the worse. A bungee cord adjuster ensures the gaiter remains fixed in place. The front of the gaiter is tapered so it can easily be tucked into the wearer’s collar to block airflow.
Sporting a fingerless design that allows for easy access to devices, the Shooter Gloves are crafted in Japan using pure spun wool.
