NEIGHBORHOOD and Dr. Martens Rework the 1461 and 1460 Boot
NEIGHBORHOOD Japan and Dr. Martens have joined forces to put a Harajuku twist on two iconic pieces of footwear: the 1461 and 1460 boot.
Putting their mark on two styles submerged in subcultural history, the 1460 and 1461 sit at the forefront of NEIGHBORHOOD and Dr. Martens’ latest collaboration. White paint has been applied ferociously to the leather upper of both the 1461 and 1460, with complimentary white stitching applied to the midsole unit. The rear heel tab features a reflective material bearing the names of Dr. Martens and NEIGHBORHOOD. While the result may seem simple, it pays respect to the identities of both parties, simultaneously drawing on a shared rebellious spirit.
Set to release on Saturday, 4th of December from Dr. Martens Japan and NEIGHBORHOOD’s online stores and in-store.
