UNION x A BATHING APE Devise a Capsule of Graphic Pieces
Two pioneers of the rising streetwear community in the 1990s, A BATHING APE and UNION, have revisited their roots and developed a collaborative capsule with one another to celebrate UNIONS’ 30th anniversary.
Channeling early streetwear nostalgia, the capsule is concise in nature, consisting of two short-sleeve graphic t-shirts, sweat pants and a pullover hoodie. The pieces feature gimmicks and details synonymous with both brands like APE HEAD, signature BAPE camouflage and UNION’s FRONTMAN figure that helped to build the existing foundations of streetwear. For the tees and pullover hoodies, logos are positioned on the front and back, whilst the sweatpants featured a collaborative symbol on the rear with iconography on the front legs.
