Drawing on areas of inspiration familiar to Mountain Research, their Autumn/Winter ‘21 is utility-driven with elements of outdoors and field wear thrown in for good measure.
Setsumasa Kobayashi’s namesake label delivers pocket-laden garments, patchwork detailing and a distinguishable approach to mountaineering through each and every look in this collection. Outerwear takes on the form of lightweight fishtail parkas, fleece utility vests and Mountain Research interpretations of silhouettes like the Mountain Parka with a lined hood and a poncho throw-over. When it comes to bottoms, there is a variety of cuts and styles to choose from including patchwork trousers, fleece sweats and wool pinstripe bottoms with some pieces adorning scripting. Shirting comes in plaid variations and features chest-mounted pockets. Zippers are used carefully to create customisable layering options and grant further storage capacity on pieces like sweatshirts that would typically be without.
