WTAPS Autumn/Winter '21
One of the forefathers in Japanese streetwear, WTAPS, headed up by Tetsu Nishiyama, has unveiled its Autumn/Winter ‘21 collection to the delight of many.
WTAPS has a particularly distinctive approach to design, frequently taking cues from military and utilitarian clothing and infusing that into their garments. As a result, we see multi-pocket constructions on many outerwear styles and interpretations of military silhouettes like BDU and flight jackets. For Autumn/Winter ‘21, the range of pieces is as expansive as ever covering outerwear, knitwear, bottoms and accessories among others. When it comes to outerwear, they are designed specifically for the colder and wetter months with the use of Taffeta 3-layer fabrics, insulated technology and durable Cordura infiltrating pieces like the Bivouac Vest, Evasion Jacket and WMILL-65. Bottoms only further complement the outerwear ensemble with a variety of cuts and styles on offer in the form of Corduroy Trousers, Satin Fatigues and Olive Drab sportswear bottoms, to name a few. Playing off the frequent military themes, shirting silhouettes like the Bud Longsleeve and WMILL-LS 02 Shirt are familiar to WTAPS fans. The colour palette of the garment remains strict in the form of olive drab, khaki, black and navy.
