Lavenham, Kosuke Tsumura and ELIMINATOR Tokyo Lead a Dystopian-Fuelled Capsule
Lavenham, Kosuke Tsumura and ELIMINATOR Tokyo have come together to build upon their common DNA of functionality, practicality and body protection.
The trio has decided to tackle three previously designed items, the Poncho Jacket, Quilted Layered Jacket and Quilted Layered Reversible Jacket, which see their materials and quilt patterns updated. Merging Kosuke Tsumura’s idea of using clothing for protection with Lavenham’s history and technology and ELIMINATOR’s choice of materials and colour has produced a capsule that mirrors the original works of Final Home.
Each model comes with translucent cushions that can be used inside the garment to increase heat retention - these are made using 100% factory scraps from Lavenham’s manufacturing facilities. Or, in line with early Final Home advertising material, you can fill the gaps with newspaper or medical supplies.
Following the dystopian values emitted by Tsumura’s early work with his Final Home label, the editorial sees the subject navigating the empty streets of Tokyo, armed only with the clothing on their back for protection and shelter.
