Woolrich and Goldwin Employ Spiber's Brewed Protein™ Fibre on its A/W ‘23 Arctic Parka

Due to release during Autumn/Winter ‘23, Woolrich and Goldwin, which owns a minority share in the brand, have unveiled the ‘Arctic Parka’ which is made using Spiber’s Brewed Protein™ fibre.

Since the brand’s inception in 1830, Woolrich has always stood by the sentiment of crafting apparel to stand the test of time. This ideology is no truer now as it looks to further innovate where material and fabric technology is concerned, namely incorporating Spiber’s Brewed Protein™ fibre: a structural protein material that is made by a microbial fermentation process that utilises plant-derived sugars as their primary raw material instead of petroleum or animal-derived ingredients. In this instance, with some design guise from Goldwin, Woolrich will be releasing its iconic Arctic Parka using the newly-developed material and it will likely be coupled with a more technical material to increase the garment’s functionality.
