Maharishi Pays Homage to the Work of Jean-Michel Basquiat in Latest Capsule
In its latest capsule release, Maharishi has paid homage to Jean-Michel Basquiat, the New York native and one of the foremost neo-expressionists of the 1980s art scene.
Maharishi has re-purposed two of Jean-Michel Basquiat’s most iconic pieces of work, the Pez Dispenser and Nu-Nile, into embroideries and prints in this collaboration. In addition, the capsule introduces Maharishi’s latest DPM, entitled DPM: Forest Bonsai Chalk, featured across silhouettes like the Original Snopants®, cargos, sweatpants, T-shirts, accessories and rugs. To honour Basquiat, the campaign was shot in New York and styled by Basquiat’s long-time friend and collaborator, Karen Binns.
