nonnatives Reveals its Latest Collaboration with Timberland on the 6-Inch Boot
Picking up with one of its seasonal collaborators, nonnative has previewed its forthcoming release with Timberland, lending its touch to the 6-Inch Boot, a cornerstone of the workwear brand’s offering.
Introduced in 1973, Timberland’s 6-Inch Boot was the first example of a commercially available waterproof boot that retained heat, made possible thanks to an innovative injection moulding technique that merged the upper and sole. Timberland were so sure of this that they provided wearers with a guarantee. 52 years later, this waterproof boot is one of the most iconic footwear styles on the planet due to its simple yet powerful design and notable collaborators like nonnative reinventing the boot wherever necessary.
In this instance, the Japanese label lends an understated yet functional edge to the 6-inch Boot, introducing the holy trinity of outdoor footwear: Vibram, GORE-TEX and PrimaLoft. When used in conjunction with one another, it heightens the boot’s original features - it is more waterproof and heat-retaining, with increased traction courtesy of the Vibram outsole. The boot is delivered in a complimentary ‘Sand Beige’ colourway to reflect nonnative’s seasonal colour palette, which varies yearly. The 6-inch boot will come with three pairs of laces, allowing you to configure it to your standards.
