AURALEE and New Balance Reunite for a Minimalist Capsule of Runners

AURALEE and New Balance Reunite for a Minimalist Capsule of Runners

Ringing in the new year, AURALEE not only celebrates with an expansive Spring/Summer ‘20 collection but also a second issue to their now continuous New Balance collaboration. Poised to release overseas exclusively yet again, the capsule brings with it a series of understated apparel to pair quite perfectly with the duo of COMP100s.

The silhouette, despite its storied past, has lied relatively low on the radar of even devoted fans. Debuted originally back in the late 70s, the pair was relatively popular within the running scene, though years on its memory has since faded. However, with the new decade upon us, the Boston-based institution has brought it back to the forefront, allowing the Japanese label to have its minimalist way. Colored in twos, the options dress to opposite ends of a neutral tonal spectrum, starting light with grey tones in close entirety while finishing much stronger by way of more saturated brown tints.

Their clothing component very obviously shares the same palette, only differentiating by a small, almost unnoticeable margin. Pieces are curated, only leaning towards the basic in a way emblematic of the AURALEE signature. Trousers drape to an effortless degree as a result of proprietary fabrics, and tops stretch to shape in either a classic knit tee or a more standard sweatshirt -- both of an oversized aesthetic. Unassuming in almost all facets, the assortment hides branding just along their backs with subtle contrast stitching underlining the “NEW BALANCE” stamp.

Grab a detailed look at the entire capsule right here, and if you’re interested in picking up any of the pieces, they’re set to go out to Japan stockists as well as AURALEE managed stores.
