mfpen Autumn/Winter '20

Curated for a minimal palate, Copenhagen-based label mfpen continues to navigate a breadth of timeless staples, slowly adding notables to its roster of sartorial styles while working in an intentional sense of coarse design language. Autumn/Winter ‘20 unequivocally lets its formal qualities steer the range, but as the label continues to further indulge itself, pieces arrive distressed at their hems or enlarged to a much more casual degree.

Evocative of a professional setting, many a standout appropriates business casual and onward, sometimes taking liberties with typical work conventions. Blazers and matching trousers are emblematic of this very idea as -- though obviously close to true in inspiration -- they cut with wide, drop shoulders or widen at the center chest, drawing the line down to a double-breasted presentation; more common variants then lie adjacent, topped with pockets not too dissimilar to that of chore coats and the like. Moreover, overcoats strike a strong diversity, with materials either opting for a more traditional gabardine or a robust and warm-tinged wool. Sweater vests serve as an accent note layered onto time-honored oxfords, knitwear further adds complexity by way of cropped and deliberately unfinished aesthetics, and lightweight jackets take shape in zipped blousons of checkerboard pattern or signature workwear replete with frayed stitch.

Grab a detailed look at the entire collection here and expect a release to hit stockists later in the AW20 season.
