F/CE Menswear Spring/Summer '20
Every few seasons a new part of the world, Japanese label F/CE continues to navigate the rich fashion landscape of the UK for what is to be the third and likely last time. With a new location just on the horizon, they’ve crafted their most refined set piece of vibrant palettes and unencumbered utility.
Each color as sonorous as the next, the garments themselves lie on a stage of their own, yet despite this, they blend almost perfectly and seamless alongside one another. Vests of classic carrying function add hi-vis by way of neon oranges, sporting pockets both big and large in a construction nearly ripped from construction worker worn tools; a more militaristic variation of the same design arrives just adjacent, thought it opts for deep olive bodies and pouches more ballistic in their very appearance. While there certainly lies a wealth of basics -- e.g. pastel sweatshirts with drop shoulders; trousers slim, wide, and every formal to casual styling in between; and shirting as well as varsity sweaters cut to pleasantly absurd lengths at either their torso or sleeves -- it seems the designers were more concerned with the rainy weather likely in store. Tapping three distinct different avenues of rain resistant class outerwear, they’ve presented simple mountain parkas left largely true to form -- despite a cobra buckle belt cinched across its chest -- and even a classic fishtail with a thoughtful face cover, but in departure, a more technical ensembles contrasts its taped seams and off-center zipper that falls closer to its side.
Grab a detailed look at all of that and much more right here and expect its release in the new year.
