My Beautiful Landlet Spring/Summer '20
An expressive redesign of form, My Beautiful Landlet continues to craft within the lines of their lovingly formless silhouettes. SS20 is the natural evolution of their motifs prior in a styling all too familiar yet still oddly attributable only to the Japenese label.
Just as their seasons past, the collection lies with no firm theme, rather, it draws from a large branch of different fashion subcultures as well as both extremes of the formal spectrum. Despite drawing heavily from classic staples, the imprint has done well to accentuate the most noticeable accents of each into something quite unique in their own right. Track jackets, adding a heavy note of casual in unison with the wide, oversized cuts, are done up with elongated sleeves and playfully exaggerated funnel collars; this very same concept is also evident on their hoodies with massive drawstrings and trench coats with extended lapels. Shirting is not without its own fair share of modifications with some arriving slit at the back in nod to performance fishing, embellished by cinching straps at their cuff, or given a form of a more minimal noragi. Poncho jackets stretch the mountain park template, jumpsuits fit no workwear ideal, trousers for whimsical drape, and much more is at the ready for the next year.
