Fumito Ganryu Rethinks the Slip-On With a Suicoke Collaboration
Ever since leaving the famed CDG institution, Fumito Ganryu has most certainly come into his own, appropriating a vast amount of styles passed the point of recognition. Among these, his seasonal Suicoke collaborations have retained a minimal style far out of the reach of the footwear labels own mainline offerings and his latest is surely no different.
Despite being split down the middle by only two styles, the capsule itself retains variety through a vast amount of colorways. The first subset, which is much more minimally done than its accompaniment, prefers a sock-like construction almost entirely composed of suede uppers while elastic nylons create a tug fit right along the ankles. Chunky platform soles take on the signature rubbers fresh from Vibram, bearing walls of either a dark black or light salmon pink. In contrast, the more sportswear-drive offering aligns much closer to a sandal than a sneaker as it adds on a strap fastener just along the heel and modular inner bootie for varying weather conditions.
