BlackEyePatch Shows Love for the Finer Things With Porcelain Expert MARUHIRO
In the past few years and likely well beyond, the modern collaboration has become something much more than a partnership of two like-minded labels; rather, it’s become a sharing of knowledge with unlikely pairings coming together for a vision surprisingly yet pleasantly cohesive. Doing this to the T, BlackEyePatch has linked up with manufacturer MARUHIRO for a small range of porcelain goods set to be sold in only days time.
Traditional thrust forward into a realm much more contemporary, each piece is a perfect reflection of both halves; the streetwear imprint has, with bold expression, stamped their distinct text logo right along the indigo-hued prints in a styling mimicking that of a sticker peeling off at its edge. The rest of the ornamental construction is left seemingly antique-inspired with cracked graphics providing an intricate backdrop for the various Japanese characters while distressed edges and bottoms add elements of wabi sabi.
Everything pictured and likely quite a few more goods will be available for purchase at the Gallery COMMON exhibit from November 21st to November 24th. A reception party will also be held on the first day with a live performance from Ryugo Ishida.
