UNIQLO Recruits the Asymmetric Mind of Engineered Garments' Daiki Suzuki
Following their quite expansive three-way collaboration with Japanese contemporaries NIGO, Jun Takahashi, and Tetsu Nishiyama, UNIQLO is finally knocking on the door of fellow eclectic Daiki Suzuki, known most for his work with the Nepenthes affiliated Engineered Garments.
Much like his well-loved and highly coveted mainline, the designer is bringing a meticulous touch to a deep breadth of polo shirts, lending them some of the brand’s staple patterns and asymmetric designs. While some feature contrasting stripes segmented by seam, others are much more subtle with blended prints adorned in the form of classic polka dots and tropical motifs. More contemporary pieces — though with a dichotomous sleeve tones — add a nice blend of design for a capsule that is a surefire gateway into the wonders of Suzuki’s reverent charm.
Grab a peek at what’s to come below and be sure to stay tuned for their release at select UNIQLO locations come May 27th.
