ULTERIOR Autumn/Winter '19
Japanese label ULTERIOR’s debut AW19 season is one wrought with the meaning of their own namesake, creating a framework of garments that make full use of their materials of choice.
Helmed by salvy’s own Daisuke Maki, the newfound household is one of homages to the oft-appropriated workwear subculture though with playful spins on its staples pushing it far out of the realm of ordinary. Chore coats in thin yet pronounced wales are ornamented by contrast pockets along their front face, while similarly overt stitching arrives plastered along the entire constructions of seemingly simplistic sweatshirts. Overcoats — in what is a deep mix of variations in fasteners — cinch at various points along their torso, lending a bit of slimming customization to what is otherwise an oversized silhouette.
Wide cut trousers paired with unstructured blazers are just one of many found, so be sure to see ULTERIOR’s inaugural show piece below.
