kolor Spring/Summer '20
Holding the ethos bolstered with each succeeding collection, Junichi Abe’s Kolor SS20 is one of refined motifs as his style fleshes itself out into universe of oversized garment shaped planets and collaborative stars.
Technical sandals make a starring feature, throwing out of whack the preconceptions held by styles like the smart-leaning blazer and warming overcoat. This disunion is a theme pleasingly ripe throughout as patterns of opposite sides of the color wheel clash with their plaid or geometric face. Many a primary color adds contrast to bleak hits of neutrals and simple earth tones, further alleviating any semblance of normality as they don sometimes massively proportioned cuts. Summer-ready short sleeve shirting arrive in a depth filled by camp collars, pullover styling, and crinkled fabrications — a texture that also breathes through on a few imposing pieces of outerwear — while similarly lightweight coaches jackets outfit in warped hems. Knitwear plays on past staples in weights all-encompassing as trousers follow suit to fit in line with the outlines of carrot silhouettes, extremely wide draping legs, and paint splattered embellishments.
