For quite some time, Chitose Abe of sacai has stood proudly within the center circle of high fashion stalwarts, continuing to convert many to her rebuilt ‘drobes while still being able to surprise her most dedicated of fans. After a revered Nike collaboration just this past month, the designer is now setting her sights on SS20.

Despite being inclusive of menswear and womenswear, the collection retains one singular identity. Each piece holds a touch of eccentric modifications with the most ordinary being mosaics of all-over animal prints. Silk constructions with ornate detailing add feminine touches to a breadth of skirts and matching tops while billowing trousers — due in part to their chaotic cut — opt for sheer segments as to not entirely obscure. Both the militaristic and civilian are all represented as usual: combing two bodies to seemingly traditional overcoats and fusing together sometimes dichotomous style types. Accessories are sprawled in many forms, accentuated in ways like the uneven brim size of summer hats, the rope straps across the slings of duffles, and the vacation flair of a woven straw. What is most surprising, however, is the subdued approach to her new line-up of footwear as slip-ons simplistically outfit in zebra executions and the sought after LDWaffle takes a triple black upper.

For all that and more, be sure to grab a look at the full runway show right below.
