COMME des GARÇONS HOMME Autumn/Winter '20

Smart yet at the same time visually rebellious, COMME des GARÇONS HOMME never ceases to walk the thin line between formal and casual, enlisting blazers next to patchwork fatigues and denims stretched far beyond oversized. Autumn/Winter ‘20 makes full use of their tailoring expertise while at the same time stretching into the aggressive territory of contemporary Junya Watanabe.

While many pieces are left clean with constructions of the brand’s standard of quality, some exhibit much more edge either in their print or their very fit. These pieces, which make full use of an array of patterns -- either inherent or produced as a result of patchwork -- are treated to classics styles such as coach jackets and oxford shirting, none ever straying too far from normality in silhouette alone. However, some build out of distinct, contrasting swatches of nylon or a much sturdier duck canvas; even plaid-adorned zipped blousons end at the hem with a panel of navy twill. Moreover, you can find varsity styles reinterpreted with smartened collars, fleece jackets sartorially modified, or technical tops either color-blocked or neutrally dressed with quilted uppers. We can also expect a return to New Balance for their footwear collaborations, offering up a clean subset of understated runners and low profile trainers.
