Norse Projects and Barbour Join Forces for a Minimal Yet Functional Menswear Range

Barbour’s timeless design and traditional wax cotton jackets have often been synonymous with the British countryside since its inception in 1894. The long-standing British lifestyle label has now teamed up with Copenhagen-based Norse Projects for an extensive menswear collection infusing Nordic minimalism and sensibilities with the functional heritage of Barbour’s archive inspired styles.

With the countryside in the backdrop, the lookbook encapsulates the all-season functionality of the multi-piece collection. Heavy-duty outerwear styles are the perfect protection for the upcoming Winter season with styles ranging from knee-length hooded parkas and field jackets. The North Sea Parka is based on the 1960 Barbour Game Fair Jacket but updated with a longer cut, lightweight wax finish, Thermore lining, and corduroy trim details. The second outerwear style is the Ursula Wax, a modern take on maritime based 1939 Barbour Ursula Suit featured in a bold yet refreshing burnt orange colorway. Functionality is embedded through four total front pockets, two of them being concealed upper patch pockets, as well as a throat guard and detachable hood. Knitwear crafted from high-quality wool come in the form of half-zip pullovers, acting as the ideal complementary midlayer piece while minimal heavy cotton tees showcase a chest-branded dual logo. The collaboration also enters the footwear and accessory scene with the rugged Fury Wellingtons, a short-length Chelsea boot, and waxed water-resistant Holdall Bag and Bucket Hat.

The Barbour x Norse Project Autumn Winter 20 collection will be available exclusively at Norse Project’s recently opened flagship store and online starting August 27 and from stockists worldwide on August 28.
