Behind the scenes of every notable brand, there is always bound to be an individual like Hiroshi Nozawa, a skilled designer whose previous work includes the likes of Snow Peak and Colombia’s Black Label; these alone have been critical in influencing his approach to design. His own label, norbit, made a resurgence in the Autumn/Winter ‘18 season after a lengthy hiatus and now they have just unveiled their latest Spring/Summer ‘21 imagery.

norbit has a profound way of balancing the two seemingly polar ideas of modern and tradition in terms of method, design and delivery. With the theme of ‘Field, Journey, Calm’ in mind, norbit delivers a wholesome array of product for the upcoming season from lightweight outerwear to shirts and hats. Traditional workwear silhouettes, such as the field jacket, and the culturally-significant ‘Duffel’ coat are both re-worked using technical fabrics and equipped with functional details aplenty, such as adjustable cuffs, ventilated holes and game pockets for increased storage. Multi-pocket shorts and bottoms, all-over print button-up shirts and vests form part of the ensemble. Garments are clad in a range of soft, neutral colours - ivory and salmon - and striking camouflage and all-over graphic prints. As time goes on, each collection goes from strength to strength and the offering becomes greater and more experimental.

Check out the imagery from their Spring/Summer ‘21 collection below.
