HIP Highlights The New Norse Projects x Barbour Collaboration in its Latest Editorial

UK based retailer, The Hip Store (HIP) - home to the likes of and Wander, BEAMS Plus, Haglöfs, WACKO MARIA and a plethora of other brands - showcase the collaboration between Barbour and Norse Projects in its latest editorial.

The capsule encompasses what is distinctive about both brands, one is an expert in Scandinavian minimalism whereas the other, Barbour, is steeped in heritage and has been manufacturing outerwear since 1894. The collaboration sees the traditional perception of Barbour altered and given a more clean, subtle and minimal appearance. The pair have produced a concise range of outerwear, outdoors-inspired footwear, graphic tees and functional accessories. Norse Projects has pulled two silhouettes from Barbour’s rich archive - the North Sea Parka and Wax Ursula jacket - and reinterpreted them in a modern way that is akin to Norse Projects. For example, the ‘Wax Ursula’ jacket features a four-pocket design on the front and is constructed using a 4oz waxed cotton, in line with Barbour’s past, and is insulated with Thermore High Loft Insulation to maintain warmth; Norse Projects’ input comes in the way of subtle details and technical adjustments such as the insulation. Both items of outerwear are available in three distinct colourways: navy, sand and burnt orange. To keep in line with Barbour’s history in the South Shields area, the HIP editorial was shot in nearby Marsden Bay as a fitting accompaniment to the capsule produced between the two brands.
