Following multiple Converse footwear collaborations in 2016 and 2019, Japan staple nonnative, founded by Satoshi Saffen, returns with Converse for their third take on the iconic PRO-LEATHER HI.

The Spring 2021 re-release is in response to the immediately sold-out shoes that originally launched in October 2020. Debuting in 1976, the PRO-LEATHER HI was Converse’s first full grain leather basketball shoe. Providing excellent ankle support and protection, the shoe became synonymous with legendary NBA star Julius “Dr. J” Erving, whose acrobatic style of play revolutionized basketball. The returning PRO-LEATHER HI collaboration incorporates a long-grain suede in a black and tonal white colorway, functional military-inspired VISLON® brand center zips down the tongue that can be covered with laces, EVA midsoles, rubber outsoles, and Converse’s trademark logos. nonnative, known for their functional yet comfortable clothing, introduces additional elements include an elastic strap applied to the forefoot, allowing the shoes to be securely worn without laces and zipper open.
