PONTI Autumn/Winter '21

PONTI Autumn/Winter '21

Japanese women’s label PONTI, led by designer Makoto Hirata starting in 2014, draws inspiration from various cultures and art forms to craft their contemporary Autumn/Winter ‘21 collection.

The brand name PONTI is derived from the term “ponchi-e”, which translates to satire and humor. With graffiti, sports, and construction items setting the scene in the background, PONTI presents basic, relaxing, and minimalist garments that are infused with seasonal inspirations through textiles and prints. A green-based jacket, trouser, and bag set features haphazard geometric pattern that is balanced out with tamer plaid skirts that can be worn formally. Basic long sleeve tops are elevated as pleated shirts come in vintage wash look while incorporating cut-out patterns across the side. Their various iterations of their trench coat, which include a draped version utilizing a belt closure, represent staple outwear pieces that are adaptable to any outfit.
