Hiroki Nakamura Reveals His Athletic-Focused visvim Sport Line
Known for their craftsmanship and contemporary take on Americana menswear, Hiroki Nakamura and his visvim label take a surprising turn with the reveal of their visvim Sport collection, a visvim lens on utility and exercise wear for both indoor and outdoor activities.
The creation of this line stemmed from Nakamura’s lack of excitement for today’s explosion of synthetic performance fabrics. "I exercise at home." I used to go to the gym, but... I realized the reason I don't go anymore was because I didn't have anything I enjoyed wearing. I don't like the slippery feel of synthetic fabrics, so I have to work out at home in my underwear.” The athletic line is built upon 17.5 micron wool sourced in New Zealand, which were used in heritage sportswear. Providing functional elements such as breathability, comfort, and quick-drying, the wool fabric is employed for stripped down, minimal yet functional silhouettes such as Jumbo Tees, Solange Shorts, Tank Tops, and low cut socks. Although the emphasis is on natural materials, visvim Sport still taps nylon fabrics for their GORE-TEX® SHAKE DRY pullover parka for protection in the outdoor while also revealing new all-black take on the FKT RUNNER built with a Japanese cotton-nylon fabric, Italian cow leather and Swedish cow leather upper.
