Battenwear Unveils its Fall/Winter 2021 Collection
Battenwear’s Fall/Winter ‘20 collection is an amalgamation of familiar streams of inspiration, reinterpreted in a way that satisfies our day-to-day clothing needs.
Founded in New York in 2011 by Shinya Hasegawa, a longtime vintage clothing enthusiast, Battenwear keeps its cards close to its chest by designing and manufacturing the vast majority of their garments in New York’s ‘Garment District’. With each passing collection whether it be Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter, Battenwear puts a distinct spin on vintage silhouettes, especially those from outdoor, military and sportswear backgrounds. For the upcoming season, outerwear is presented in the form of mountain down parkas - similar to the ones produced by Eddie Bauer in the 1970s - half-zip smocks, camo parkas and fleece jackets - all familiar but well-executed vintage styles. Moreover, bottoms come in a range of cuts, styles and prints with navy colourways sat next to more extravagant plaid get-ups. For tops, Battenwear executes the basics well with a range of sweatshirts and tees featuring the odd logo where appropriate. Headwear reaffirms mainstay styles like the beanie and bucket hat but is offered in corduroy fabrications and bright orange hues to fit the Fall/Winter season.
