Sacai Menswear Spring/Summer '23
Led by Chitose Abe, Sacai has unveiled its Spring/Summer ‘23 collection during this year’s Paris Fashion Week.
Known for reanimating typical clothing silhouettes in a very ‘Sacai’ way, Abe has approached SS23 with a renewed sense of vigour by incorporating timeless, functional materials like Loro Piana’s Storm System into outerwear styles and Thomas Mason cotton for their shirting. Approaching these fabrics in an atypical way, the shirts come with mismatched pinstripes and pleating whilst outerwear takes on jacquard prints and all-over motifs. In line with many other pieces in the collection, legwear comes in the form of shorts and bottoms, adopting prints seen throughout the range.
Further dabbling in her collaborative prowess, previous seasons citing Nike and ACRONYM as partners, we see products developed with Clarks, Loro Piana and American graffiti artist, Eric Haze, who has embedded ‘As One’ in a mantra-like style across a number of pieces.
