meanswhile Braces for the Winter with a Pack of Down-Filled Outerwear
Laying claim to one winning title of the Tokyo Fashion Awards just weeks ago, meanswhile continues their technical pursuits with their sights firmly set on the winter months. Crafting a full wardrobe outfitted to be tools rather than garments, the Japanese label has once again outdone themselves with a wide arrangement of down-filled apparel.
The starring role, though somewhat unassuming in size, is most certainly owed to the layer-ready vest, with straps hanging down from its construction in what is most likely a multi-purpose feature designed to customize fit, secure into other pieces, or simply add visual intrigue. Built of an enduring, high-density ripstop material enhanced by Spectra, the piece itself is much deeper than it leads on. Pockets stitched onto the front add in contrast by way of dark greys and olive or even a maximal grid print, one that is shared on the much more heavyweight piece of outerwear. Quilted from sleeve to collar in similar fashion, the much more imposing ensemble -- which is seen in four of the same color varieties as the aforementioned -- bears even further utility thanks to its water-proof fasteners and stash-able hood.
