SCYE Spring/Summer '20

SCYE Spring/Summer '20

Since its inception in 2000 by Hideaki Miyahara and Hisayo Hidaka, Japanese label SCYE has aimed to blend classic 19th century British fashion with modern Japanese tailoring and styles. Their latest Spring/Summer ‘20 season remains consistent with their vision while focusing on cut-and-sew items and functional fabrics.

Men’s shirts are varying in colors, coming in bright green plaid patterns reminiscent of British tartan designs to monotone black with punk influences. The tops are crafted with unique, natural materials such as paper-mixed silk, linen, cotton, wool and nylon, proving to be adaptable for any situation. When paired with their tailored blazers, SCYE offers formal outfits, or the outerwear pieces can be worn casually for their water repellent surfaces. Meanwhile, the women’s collection leans towards relaxed fits with wide-fitting dresses and pleated skirts, perfect for the Summer. Brighter colors such as green, pale blue, and khaki offer a vibrant contrast to the dark v-neck dresses and strap dresses. SCYE’s Japanese lens on British fashion comes full circle with its adaptation of the trench coat.
