nonnative x New Balance CM996NNS

The long-standing relationship between nonnative and New Balance continues to see silhouettes re-worked using premium materials and subtle nods to the brands history.

The pair have once again come together to work on the 996; a model that first appeared in 1988 and is still regarded as being remarkably comfortable to this day. nonnative designer, Takayuki Fujii, wanted to create an entirely new 996 design, but with a retro touch - subtle details achieve this. Therefore, an embroidered ‘NB’ logo appears in place of the regular ‘N’ we are accustomed to seeing on the sidewall. Tan long-haired suede and white leather comprise the upper of the shoe in an attempt to give a ‘used’ appearance, with hints of black on the heel and sole.

The collaboration will be available on 27th July via COVERCHORD. For now, check out some detailed shots below.
