BYBORRE LAB Further Innovates with Their Textile Driven "Edition7" Collection

The BYBORRE LAB rarely operates outside of the experimental, and their latest offerings, revealed first and put on display during Paris Fashion Week, are only further testament to that very fact. Dubbed “Edition7,” the collection collates and refines with spotlight on their newly created Waffle knit, pairing it with many a past motif in what is a no-holds-barred presentation.

This newfound staple -- held in high esteem by the label themselves -- is a single layer fabric that bears an intricate weave wrought from a core mesh base; the exterior, which is very evident of its own namesake, creates a gridded structure that traps heat via air pockets inherent to the construction. Fitting seamlessly within their already existing textile development kit, the material, among others, is up for collaborative minds to grab: a central objective that BYBORRE hopes to incite by way of their own partnership with Dutch artist Jeroen Erosie.

And this is no small endeavor as well -- nothing ever is when the Amsterdam-based studio is considered. Erosie’s works appear within the very fibers of the pieces themselves, turning an already strong range into artworks by way of graphics subtly embedded or via intricate line work. Catapulting off, even more relationships have bore fruit: Woolmark with their customization of the ever-classic merino wool, Meryl with a line of eco nylon items, and GORE-TEX with a series of weather-resistant parkas, bottoms, and accessories. Inline styles then round off the curated series, tackling bomber jackets, neat metallic-accented shirting, and even modular outfits that start as vests and end as protective jackets.

Grab a detailed look at some of what will be available right here, and expect word on the collection’s release date after they wrap up their showroom that’s now open for meetings up to January 21st.
