POSTELEGANT Autumn/Winter '21
POSTELEGANT, the unisex Japanese fashion brand led by designer Yuya Nakata since 2017, showcases modern wear built upon a foundation of high quality materials and construction for their Autumn/Winter ‘21 collection.
Focusing on garments that extend beyond gender or generation, Yuya Nakata focuses on clothes are not flashy or eye catching at first glance but can be appreciated by physically touching and wearing them. The fairly minimal collection represents this, lacking graphic designs, and everyday essentials manifest through oversized relaxed silhouettes and unique shapes. The signature duffle coat is reimagined as a thick knit collarless outerwear in a dark earth tone colorway that pairs perfectly with wide pleated trousers. Meanwhile, full length dresses in pastel yellow color palettes act like an overlayer cloak with drawstring details at the collar and sleeves that gives a unique balloon silhouette. In another interpretation of the dress, the silhouette is combined with coat details such as waist flap pockets and tailored patterns, giving it an elegant aesthetic.
