WTAPS Leaves its Mark on the New Balance 990v2
Testu Nishiyama’s imprint, WTAPS, has once again collaborated with New Balance on its 990v2 silhouette.
Continuing their relationship from last year which saw the pair work on the M992WT, WTAPS and New Balance utilise the 990v2 as the base model for this collaboration but reinterpreted in their own way. At first glance, the model is cast in hues of grey and features leather accents on the sidewall, tongue, heel and around the foot opening. Alongside the leather are hits of mesh and nubuck suede and branding is littered throughout from both parties, as seen on the heel and tongue.
In addition to the footwear, there is a small capsule of Made in USA apparel in the form of some graphic staples - t-shirt, long sleeve top, sweatshirt and hoodie - which features both WTAPS and New Balance branding, as well as ‘USA’ printed on the chest.
Set to release on Friday, 27th of August from WTAPS’ online store, Union Tokyo and United Arrows & Sons, among others.
