DESCENTE and Kazuki Kuraishi Reconvene for a Ski-Series of Garments

DESCENTE and Kazuki Kuraishi have reconvened on their latest volume in a series of ski-oriented collaborations from the last few months. With design assistance from Kazuki Kuraishi, the range presents a number of functional garments for snowboarding and freestyle skiing experts alike, but with some twists.

On the whole, this third instalment consists of outerwear, sweaters, accessories and tops, all of which have been designed with the utmost functionality in mind. Despite the emphasis on performance, Kuraishi has managed to put his twist on things by integrating a check-patterned fabric that makes reference to 1990s punk culture. Various touches can be seen throughout that reference this including pink zipper pulls, laminated zippers and repetitive branding motifs. At the forefront of the collection is the BC Powder Jacket which is constructed using a three-layer SOLOTEX jacquard material that is both highly breathable and waterproof in a performance context. The jacket features pockets throughout which allows skiers to store their belongings such as goggles and gloves. Sitting alongside is the newly-launched Powder Jacket which functions as both a shell and inner layer to provide ample warmth and protection. Made from a 2.5-layer SOLOTEX fabric that is breathable and waterproof, the inner layer utilises DESCENTE’s proprietary ‘Heat-Navi’ technology that absorbs sunrays and converts them into warmth.

Take a closer look at the collection below.
